Treasurer (Permanent)
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the Foundation's finances, including budgeting, cash flow, and basic financial reporting to the board
• Work with any bookkeeper or accountant to ensure accurate, up-to-date financial records
• Present financial summaries at board meetings and flag any concerns
• Help ensure compliance with nonprofit financial filing requirements, including state and federal reporting
• Support budgeting for fundraising goals, grant applications, and the Foundation's startup budget
• Support the eventual transition to a permanent board structure as the Foundation formalizes its governance
Qualifications
• Background in finance, accounting, or nonprofit financial management
• Comfort with nonprofit board procedure (prior board or committee experience helpful but not required)
• Reliable attendance and timely turnaround on financial reports
• Discretion in handling sensitive organizational and financial information is helpful but not required)Time Commitment: 1 to 3 hours per month in 2026 (board meetings plus minimal prep); up to 2 to 5 hours per month as financial activity ramps up.

Legal Counsel (Pro Bono/Volunteer)
Key Responsibilities
• Review and help finalize bylaws and governance documents
• Review contracts, including vendor, partnership, and sponsorship agreements
• Advise on 501(c)(3) compliance matters, including board governance and compensation policy review
• Flag legal risks as the Foundation incorporates and formalizes its structure
Qualifications
• Licensed attorney with experience in nonprofit law, corporate law, or a related practice area
• Willingness to provide pro bono or reduced-rate support during the founding phase
• Comfort working with a small, early-stage organizationTime Commitment: 1 to 3 hours per month in 2026, with occasional spikes around contract review.

Advisor (Multiple Openings)
Key Responsibilities
• Provide subject-matter guidance in one or more areas: curatorial practice, museum operations, nonprofit governance, fundraising, real estate or site selection, or arts education
• Review and offer feedback on strategic planning documents, including the Foundation's vision framework and program design
• Make introductions to galleries, collectors, funders, or institutional partners where relevant
• Participate in periodic advisory calls or written consultations as the Foundation moves toward site selection and fundraising
Qualifications
• Relevant expertise in the arts, museum field, nonprofit management, philanthropy, or a related sector
• Willingness to lend name and credibility to the Foundation's advisory council during its founding phase
• No fixed meeting schedule is required beyond periodic check-ins -
Compliance Officer
The Compliance Officer supports the Foundation's commitment to ethical governance, transparency, and regulatory compliance. This individual will help develop internal policies, monitor compliance with applicable nonprofit laws and regulations, and work closely with the Board to promote accountability and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and local nonprofit regulations
Assist with governance policies, including conflict of interest, whistleblower, document retention, and ethics policies
Help ensure compliance with IRS requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations
Support compliance with grant and donor reporting requirements.
Identify potential legal, operational, or reputational risks and recommend mitigation strategies
Maintain compliance documentation and organizational records
Collaborate with legal counsel and the Board on governance matters
Promote a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the Foundation
Qualifications
Experience in nonprofit compliance, law, auditing, risk management, public administration, or corporate compliance
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Time Commitment: 1 to 3 hours per month.

Development / Fundraising Chair
Key Responsibilities
• Lead overall donor cultivation strategy for individual and corporate giving
• Identify and approach prospective major donors, complementing the Grant Writer's focus on institutional funding
• Develop and steward corporate sponsorship relationships
• Help plan and execute small donor cultivation events
• Advise on fundraising messaging and donor communications, in coordination with the Founder
Qualifications
• Experience in development, fundraising, or relationship-driven sales
• Existing relationships in philanthropic, corporate, or arts communities are a plus
• Comfort making direct asks and stewarding ongoing donor relationships
Time Commitment: 1 to 5 hours per month in 2026, with periodic spikes around events or campaigns -
Accessibility Specialist
Key Responsibilities
• Advise the Foundation on accessibility best practices across programs, exhibitions, events, and digital content
• Review communications, website updates, and public-facing materials to help improve accessibility and inclusion
• Provide recommendations to increase accessibility for visitors, artists, speakers, and volunteers
• Offer guidance on accessibility considerations as the Foundation plans and develops its future physical presence, helping ensure spaces are welcoming and accessible
• Help identify accessibility resources, partnerships, and funding opportunities when appropriate
Qualifications
• Experience or demonstrated knowledge in accessibility, disability inclusion, universal design, ADA compliance, or related fields
• Familiarity with accessibility standards for cultural institutions, physical spaces, or digital communications is preferred
• Passion for creating inclusive experiences and reducing barriers to participation
• Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills
Time Commitment: 1 to 3 hours per month in 2026, with occasional additional time to review new initiatives or exhibitions -
People Operations
Key Responsibilities
Develop volunteer recruitment and onboarding processes
Create volunteer handbooks and codes of conduct
Coordinate volunteer applications and interviews
Help with board and volunteer orientation
Maintain volunteer records and training documentation
Assist with performance feedback and volunteer recognition
Ensure compliance with volunteer policies and employment laws as applicable
Qualifications
Experience in human resources, talent acquisition, volunteer management, organizational development, or employee relations
Knowledge of onboarding, training, and volunteer engagement best practices
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Experience with nonprofit organizations is preferred but not required
Passion for fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and mission-driven organizational culture

Information Technology & Cybersecurity
This role becomes increasingly important as the Foundation grows and handles donor, volunteer, and participant information.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on cybersecurity best practices
Help secure Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, websites, cloud storage, and nonprofit software
Implement multi-factor authentication and account security
Develop backup and disaster recovery procedures
Recommend technology solutions for staff and volunteers
Review website security
Assist with CRM, donor database, and digital infrastructure
Help develop policies for data privacy and information security
Qualifications
Experience in information technology, cybersecurity, systems administration, cloud computing, or a related field
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including identity and access management, multi-factor authentication, data protection, and incident response
Familiarity with platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, website content management systems, cloud storage, or customer relationship management (CRM) systems
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience supporting nonprofit organizations is preferred but not required
Commitment to protecting organizational data, digital assets, and the privacy of donors, volunteers, and partners
Time Commitment: 1 to 3 hours per month in 2026.

Intern (Multiple Openings)
Our internship program offers students and emerging professionals the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while contributing to the growth of a new contemporary arts organization.
Interns work closely with Foundation leadership on projects that have a tangible impact, gaining practical experience in nonprofit operations while developing professional skills in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
Internships are to be completed for academic credit (subject to the approval of the student's institution).
Opportunities are offered on a rolling basis throughout the year based on the Foundation's needs.
